Moving from VS Code to Nova

I have a preference for native Mac software and a strong inclination toward privacy in the software I create and use. Over the years, as Visual Studio Code has become increasingly cumbersome and my frustration with Google and Chrom(ium) has grown, I’ve continued to revisit Panic's code editor, Nova.

I can’t quite remember how long it’s been since I last tried Nova, but today, it just clicked. At least for working on a local Rails application, it’s been fantastic. It’s fast, navigation is intuitive and doesn’t require a mouse, syntax highlighting works seamlessly, and there are inline git commit messages—all without searching for or installing third-party extensions.
